Melavie was created by a pharmaceutical scientist and woman of colour who spent years struggling with hyperpigmentation and acne. Like so many with melanin-rich skin, she was disappointed by the lack of science-backed, inclusive skincare. Products made big promises, but few delivered visible results — and many were never designed with deeper skin tones in mind.

Determined to change that, she began developing formulas that addressed hyperpigmentation at the root, using gentle but clinically effective actives that actually work for medium to deep skin tones.
